Claim Terms
Last updated: July 25, 2026
These Claim Terms apply only to City Claims and related paid sponsorship/listing placements. Free reader accounts, author profiles, books, stories, and Story Trails are governed primarily by the general Terms of Use.
1. Annual digital placement
A City Claim is a 12-month digital sponsorship/listing placement connected to a city profile, map marker, approved link, claim story, or related display. It is not ownership of a municipality, government affiliation, trademark ownership, zoning authority, guaranteed traffic, guaranteed sales, or legal exclusivity in a geographic market.
2. One approved claim per city
City Pixels generally displays one approved active City Claim per city. The claim layer is separate from the many writers, books, stories, Story Trails, and reader features that may connect to the same city.
3. Availability and price verification
Availability and price must be verified by the live backend before payment or invoice approval. A URL, screenshot, cached page, message, or earlier quote does not guarantee that a city remains available or that a stale price remains valid. The amount presented and accepted in the approved payment flow controls.
4. First-Year Founder Price
When identified as a First-Year Founder Price, the displayed amount applies to the first 12-month claim term. Renewal pricing may change. Any renewal-price increase must be emailed at least 90 days before the renewal deadline; if timely notice is not sent, the current annual price remains available for the next renewal term.
5. Review and acceptance
Submitting a request or making payment does not automatically activate a claim. Fallen House Media LLC may review the claimant, link, city connection, rights, public materials, and brand fit. A claim is active only after payment clears and Fallen House Media LLC accepts it. A rejected or unavailable paid claim will be handled under the Refund Policy.
6. No automatic renewal
City Claims do not automatically renew. The claimant has first right of renewal during the active term and any stated grace period. If renewal is not completed by the end of that period, the city may become available to another claimant.
7. Public materials and rights
The claimant must have permission to use submitted names, logos, images, links, descriptions, quotes, and other materials. The claimant grants Fallen House Media LLC permission to review, edit for presentation and safety, display, link, and promote approved materials in connection with the claim during the active term and reasonable archival periods.
8. Editorial independence
A City Claim does not buy editorial control, ratings, search ranking, removal of unrelated writers or stories, or approval of specific wording. Side Eye Tom and Fallen House Media LLC retain final editorial control over claim presentation and all independent City Pixels content.
9. Content and link standards
Claims and linked destinations must follow the Content Standards. Fallen House Media LLC may request a replacement link or materials, suspend display, remove a claim, or decline renewal when content becomes misleading, unlawful, unsafe, infringing, unavailable, or inconsistent with the platform.
10. Payments and records
Payment must be completed through an approved checkout or invoice process. Claimants are responsible for accurate payer, contact, city, price, and public information. Transaction records and checkout acknowledgements may be retained for accounting, dispute, security, and legal purposes.
11. Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy. Once an approved claim is active or published, the current term is generally final and is not prorated merely because the claimant later chooses to stop using the placement.
12. Transfer or resale
A claim may not be transferred, assigned, or resold unless the checkout expressly included that right or Fallen House Media LLC gives written approval. Any approved successor remains subject to review and these Claim Terms.
13. Suspension or removal
Fallen House Media LLC may suspend or remove a claim for nonpayment, fraud, rights disputes, policy violations, legal requirements, security concerns, or material changes to the linked destination. The appropriate refund or credit, if any, depends on the reason and applicable law.
14. No performance guarantee
City Claims do not guarantee traffic, search ranking, publicity, leads, sales, customers, revenue, or business results.
