Authorized Worlds World Owner Terms

These terms apply to a person or organization that creates or manages an Authorized World on City Pixels.

1. Authority to open the world

You represent that you own, control, or have sufficient authority to grant the limited fan-fiction permission described by your Authorized World. You may not open a world around intellectual property you do not have authority to administer.

2. Accurate permission statement

You are responsible for clearly identifying what participating fan writers may and may not use. Your permission statement, allowed elements, protected elements, canon-character policy, content boundaries, and published rules must not grant rights you do not control.

3. Fan-created ownership boundary

Approval of a fan project does not transfer ownership of the fan writer’s original character or prose to you. You may review and administer the project inside the Authorized World, but you do not receive a standalone commercial license to exploit the fan writer’s original material merely because you approved, featured, moderated, or hosted it.

4. No implied acquisition option

Authorized Worlds are not an automatic option, assignment, work-for-hire, first-look, or rights-acquisition system. If you want to purchase, license, adapt, incorporate, or otherwise commercially use a fan writer’s original material, that requires a separate written agreement outside the ordinary Authorized Worlds approval process.

5. Rule administration

You may publish and update world rules, but City Pixels preserves rule history and accepted versions. You should not represent a fan project as having accepted a newer rule version until the platform records that acceptance where acceptance is required.

6. Moderation responsibility

You may review applications and enforce ordinary world rules in good faith. You may not edit a fan writer’s chapter prose through owner moderation tools or claim authorship of the fan writer’s original work. City Pixels may override, freeze, restrict, or remove activity when platform safety, legal compliance, or third-party rights require it.

7. Canon decisions

City Pixels does not decide what is official canon for your intellectual property. Within the platform, Authorized Worlds projects remain visibly non-canon. Any separate canonization, acquisition, or adaptation decision is outside the ordinary Authorized Worlds program.

8. Commercial permissions

The platform defaults to non-commercial fan participation. If you separately authorize commercial activity, you are responsible for defining that permission in writing and for any compensation, tax, royalty, credit, accounting, union, publishing, licensing, or other obligations created by your separate agreement.

9. Rights complaints

You agree to cooperate reasonably with City Pixels when a copyright, trademark, impersonation, harassment, illegal-content, or other rights complaint concerns your world. City Pixels may preserve evidence and restrict access while a complaint is reviewed.

10. No guarantee of participation or revenue

City Pixels does not guarantee applications, fan writers, traffic, engagement, revenue, discovery, licensing opportunities, or commercial results from opening an Authorized World.

11. Billing status

Authorized Worlds online plan billing is not currently enabled. Any future paid plan will be governed by additional checkout, billing, renewal, and refund terms before charges are collected.
