Authorized Worlds Commercial Use Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Authorized Worlds fan work is non-commercial by default. The platform permission lets fan writers create and share non-canon work inside the rights holder’s defined sandbox; it does not create an automatic commercial license.
1. Activities prohibited by default
- selling the story, character project, compilation, ebook, print book, comic, game, or other derivative work;
- placing the fan work behind a subscription, membership, tip-gated, patron-only, or other paid-access system;
- licensing or sublicensing the derivative fan work to another person or company;
- selling merchandise based on the derivative project or protected world material;
- minting, tokenizing, or selling NFTs or similar digital collectibles based on the derivative fan work;
- commercially adapting the project into audio, video, film, television, stage, game, interactive, or other media;
- separately publishing or distributing the derivative fan work as a commercial product;
- using the world owner’s protected marks or material in paid advertising that implies sponsorship or endorsement.
2. Audience discovery is allowed
A fan writer may use the Authorized Worlds project as part of the writer’s City Pixels presence and may link readers to the writer’s separate, independently owned work where the platform otherwise permits those links. That does not convert the Authorized Worlds fan project itself into a commercially licensed work.
3. Separate written commercial permission
A rights holder may separately grant commercial rights to a fan writer. Any such permission should be in a separate written agreement identifying the rights granted, territory, media, term, compensation or royalty terms if any, credit, approval rights, termination rights, and other material conditions.
4. City Pixels is not automatically part of the deal
A separate commercial agreement between a world owner and fan writer does not make City Pixels or Fallen House Media LLC a party to that agreement unless Fallen House Media LLC expressly signs a separate agreement.
5. No platform royalty system is active
Authorized Worlds does not currently operate a public royalty, revenue-share, commercial licensing, or paid-plan settlement system. Do not rely on City Pixels to calculate or distribute commercial compensation for a separate outside deal.
6. When in doubt
If a use involves money, paid access, sale, licensing, adaptation, merchandise, sponsorship, or other commercial exploitation of the derivative fan project, treat it as prohibited unless you have clear separate written permission from the rights holder.
